The 6th International Congress organized by SIDIIEF – francophone association of nurses – took place from May 31st till June 5th of this year in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Véronique Thouvenot, the director of the WeObservatory, as well as the project leaders of the selected Canadian projects were invited to speak: Marie-Josée Poirier of Mental Health Nursing Guides for DR Congo, José Côté of TAVIE Adherence to Treatement , Lorraine B.-La France and Claire Babin of the Skype project (Reducing social isolation for long term care residence). The guide that resulted out of this project was actually for the first time presented to the public at the Congress (photo on the right ) in French and English.
Dr. Véronique Thouvenot was invited as Keynote speaker of the session on “Telehealth and nursing expertise: facing the public health issues of the 21st century” (detailed program in FR) attended by more than 400 participants on June 3d. During which she presented the studies and projects of the WeObservaroty and the action plans of the Millennia2025Foundation ). The highlights of the presentation were, of course, the Canadian projects mentioned above as well as the ZMD project, UniversalNurses Speaker and the Cloud Babies tele-stethoscope.
The projects were otherwise displayed on the Connecting Nurses booth , where we were happy to welcome Felicity Kelliher of AFDET and Hélène Salette of SIDIIEF both members of Connecting Nurses Steering Committee, and our partners 360Medlink. The booth was as always wonderfully animated by nurse Anne Gourdon (photo right)
The activities didn’t stop with the end of the Congress. Afterwards we were invited by the nurses of the Skype project to take a tour at the St Anne de Bellevue Hospital, meet with the teams, and learn more about how the project has been carried out. The congress was excellent, dynamic and highly instructive. We look forward to the next SIDIIEF congress in Bordeaux ,France in 2018!
